The performance will interweave Hubert Parry’s masterful song-cycle for choir with texts by Shakespeare, Graham Greene, Thomas Browne, and Virgina Woolf, among others. With an original script by Jack Furness, Scottish actors Benny Young and Rebecca Wilkie and a 40-strong chorus, this unique and poignant interpretation of Parry’s work will offer a meditative examination of attitudes towards death and loss shot through with a dialogue between medical and religious understandings of life's final moments.

A new departure for the SCO Chorus, this concert will invigorate Parry’s fine choral writing with a fresh approach to the concert experience.
