The REAL King of Pop

With a stellar career boasting a No. 1 single in five consecutive decades, Cliff Richard is still going strong as a cornerstone of British entertainment with over 130 UK Top 20 hits to his name.

Back to his Rock ‘n’ Roll roots, Cliff Richard spectacularly returns on DVD; the only place to see the complete live set from Australia’s iconic Sydney Opera House.

Combining over 2 hours of Rock ‘n’ Roll hits such as Dream Lover and Willie & the Hand Jive with legendary favourites such as Reelin’ & Rockin’Devil Woman, The Young Ones and Rip it Up, this is Cliff’s most rockin' show in years!

The DVD features 8 songs that Cliff didn’t play on his UK tour - Fabulous, Poetry In MotionParalyzedSealed with a Kiss‘D’ In LoveI Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t ShineSome People and Suddenly - This is the only way to get the complete Reelin’ & A-Rockin’ experience!

Exclusive extras go behind the scenes of Cliff’s tour; special access to his wardrobe, crew and the man himself sharing memories and personal insights from one of music’s most phenomenal careers.

With his fanbase stronger than ever, Cliff’s recent tour has been a phenomenon. For fans that didn’t manage to catch him in person, the DVD will make a perfect Christmas gift. If they did, it’s a perfect souvenir!

I have gone too far with this churnalism, haven't I? I think there is space here for a meditation on the importance of actually reading the press releases before posting them on-line. I wonder whether there is a call for deconstruction of rock'n'roll language as the form enters its sixth decade.

Having said that, I doubt there are few people in the world who know more about Willy and the Hand Jive than this confirmed bachelor. Johnny Otis, the song's composer, would like to make it clear that the song isn't about that at all, thank you very much, and I am being childish.

I bet this is going to be the most popular post on the blog this week. And I'll get a load of abuse from fans of Cliff Richard for the stupid joke. That's ironic, because the one thing I like about Cliff is his decision to remain single and stand up for his religious faith in public. I quite liked Devil Woman when it was on Top of the Pops: his stab at Blue Eyed Soul was no more shallow than Hall and Oates.
